WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Welcome Home Angel will host a special Reveal Day on April 2 for Ava Grace, a 10-year-old Wilmington girl whose home has been transformed to better support her medical, educational and daily living needs.
Ava Grace was born at just 25 weeks, weighing one pound, and spent 253 days in the NICU. She continues to face complex medical challenges, including hydrocephalus requiring a VP shunt. She is immunocompromised and receives homebound instruction along with occupational, physical and speech therapy.
The project focuses on creating a more functional and supportive home environment by converting the family’s dining area into a dedicated learning and therapy space. Upgrades include a desk area, therapy equipment, accessibility features and a privacy divider.
