STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Stony Brook’s Hunter Colagrande struck out nine over six innings as Stony Brook topped visiting UNCW, 4-2, on Friday to clinch the conference series at Joe Nathan Field.
The Seawolves clinched their first series win against UNCW while improving to 9-18 overall and 6-8 in the league. UNCW, meanwhile, dropped its fourth straight and slid to 18-12 and 7-4. After seeing UNCW tie the game with a run in the top of the third, the Seawolves plated three in the bottom of the inning, including two on a two-out double by Nicolas Dromboski to make it 4-1.
