SOUTHPORT, N.C. (WECT) – The husband of a woman killed in the Southport shooting said Tuesday’s court decision to halt proceedings and send the accused shooter for further mental evaluation is prolonging anguish for those still waiting for accountability.
A judge decided Tuesday to halt proceedings for accused shooter Nigel Edge for further mental evaluation before proceeding with the trial.
Lennie Rogers’ wife was killed in the Sept. 27 shooting at the American Fish Company in Southport. He said he was not surprised by the ruling finding Edge currently unfit to move forward in court.
