NCDOT to start utility relocation for Wrightsville Beach bridge replacements

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, N.C. (WECT) – Crews with the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) are scheduled to begin utility relocation work this summer in New Hanover County.

According to NCDOT, the work is part of the Wrightsville Beach bridge replacement project.

NCDOT is replacing three bridges in Wrightsville Beach, including:

  • Two bridges along West Salisbury Street over Lees Cut and Banks Channel
  • One on Causeway Drive over Banks Channel

Utility relocation will start this summer around the smaller bridge on West Salisbury Street over Lees Cut, and intermittent lane closures will be in place during the work. It will not be closed for replacement until after Labor Day…
