Select Board to decide next steps for Community Center

WESTBOROUGH — With the Westborough Public Library to return to its West Main Street location in the fall – thereby vacating its current temporary spot – the Select Board is beginning to discuss next steps for the Community Center.

When work was paused in December 2024, the thinking at the time was to complete the work in two phases: Constructing the Senior Center portion of the first floor, then doing the remaining space on the first floor – namely the auditorium and veterans’ spaces – and portions of the second floor.

At this time, the design for Phase One is 80 percent complete, while Phase Two is at 50 percent completion. To get to this point, the town has spent $40,000 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, $85,000 from free cash, and $1.1 million from the Del Webb Chancy Lake Stabilization Fund…
