Legal Sea Foods debuts 3-foot, 4-pound lobster roll in Mass.; Conn. monster rolls reign here

BOSTON — Legal Sea Foods, a Boston-based chain, is unveiling what it calls the largest lobster roll in Massachusetts — 3 feet-long with 4-pounds of lobster meat — on National Lobster Day, June 15, for $375, according to Matt King, chief operating officer.

As it stands, “Legal’s Largest Lobster Roll” is not the biggest roll in New England. Connecticut may lay claim to that title with the Madison Clam Castle’s 8-foot, 8-pound Lobzilla Titan at $549 and North Branford’s Supreme Seafood with its 6-foot, 6-pound and 6-ounce Neptune lobster roll at $399.

The two Connecticut eateries have been going back and forth trying to outdo each other in recent weeks with splashy social media posts while their monster-sized lobster rolls grew from 2 feet, to 3, then 4, ending up at 6 and 8 feet long in the final round…
