Man arrested for alleged ‘significant role’ in 2025 East Haven street takeover

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A 22-year-old man was arrested in connection with a 2025 East Haven street takeover that police say he played a “significant role” in.

Aldo Almonte Vargas, 22, of Worcester, Massachusetts, turned himself in to East Haven police Monday. He was charged with inciting injury to persons or property, inciting to riot and riot in the second degree.

Vargas’ arrest is part of an ongoing investigation into an incident that occurred at the ShopRite parking lot at 713 Foxon Road in East Haven on Nov. 30, 2025, according to police.
