Connecticut cannabis shops say state’s strict rules on discounts are hurting business

State cannabis regulators earlier this year clarified Connecticut law for licensed cannabis retailers: Discounts on cannabis products may be offered only within the establishment or online after a potential customer’s age has been established.

“They don’t want us to, in any way, shape or form, possibly induce someone under 21 to purchase cannabis. So we can’t do anything in print, and we can send out emails only to our loyalty customers,” said Kebra Smith-Bolden, owner of Lit New Haven.
