WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WJAR) — A Woonsocket woman has been hospitalized in ‘serious condition’ after she was shot in the head early Sunday morning.
According to Woonsocket Police, officers responded to a crowd at an address on Cooper Ave. at 12:44 a.m. to break up a crowd, though they didn’t observe any criminal activity at the time. At 1:26 a.m., however, officers returned to the location after reports that shots had been fired and a person had been hit.
Upon arrival, officers say they noticed a 21-year-old woman on the ground bleeding out of her head. Another shooting victim- the woman’s 18-year-old sister- was also hospitalized with a minor gunshot wound…
