‘Safe roads require all of us’: Grafton proposes plan to prevent fatal auto accidents

GRAFTON – Since 2016, Grafton has had five fatal automobile accidents. Four of those accidents have been since February 2025, including a June 2026 motorcycle accident that claimed the life of State Trooper Jacob Mick.

On July 31, Town Administrator Evan Brassard released a 18-page memorandum describing potential efforts to promote safety on Grafton’s roads: “This is a list of the ideas … I’m just trying to put together a more-concrete way to look at traffic safety in Grafton. We have a lot of players, a lot of ideas,” he told the Select Board.

As part of the memo, Brassard identified several areas that may benefit from extra safety measures: Providence Road at Milford Road, Main Street at Pleasant Street, Providence Road at Millbury Street, Providence Road at Main Street, and Worcester Street from Millbury to the Common…
