Several rounds of showers, thunderstorms possible in Massachusetts this week

Massachusetts is expected to get a brief stretch of cooler, drier weather Monday before several rounds of showers and thunderstorms arrive, according to the National Weather Service.

Scattered showers are possible Sunday night, mainly across Southeastern Massachusetts, Cape Cod and the Islands. Forecasters do not expect a washout, and most of the rain should move out by Monday morning.

Sunday forecasts around the state include:

  • Boston: High 83, low 65, mostly cloudy.
  • Hyannis: High 80, low 66, fair.
  • Pittsfield: High 75, low 56, mostly cloudy.
  • Springfield: High 83, low 61, mostly cloudy.
  • Worcester: High 76, low 61, fair.
