More than 20 white sharks were detected off the coast of Massachusetts last week, including 18 that were spotted off Cape Cod.
Most of the sightings occurred along the shore of South Monomoy Island in Chatham and were logged by the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy via its shark-tracking app, Sharktivity.
On Aug. 29, a dead seal washed up on the shore at Nauset Beach North. The seal showed signs of being preyed upon by a shark.
