STURBRIDGE, Mass. (WWLP) – Two 19-year-old men were arrested Wednesday following an investigation into a series of explosives found inside mailboxes and outdoor areas in Holland, Monson, Sturbridge and Brookfield.

According to Department of Fire Services Spokesperson Jake Wark, 19-year-old Nathan Asselin of Sturbridge and 19-year-old Camron Lamarche of Southbridge were arrested and charged with found counts of possession of a destructive device, placing an explosive device, vandalism and other charges.
An investigation began after explosions were reported in mailboxes and other outdoor areas in December 2023. The locations included Town Farm Road in Brookfield, Sturbridge Road in Holland, Boston Road E in Monson, and New Boston Road in Sturbridge.
Asselin and Lamarche will be arraigned in Dudley District Court on Wednesday.
Members of the Monson, Brookfield, Holland and Sturbridge Police Departments assisted in the investigation.
