Authorities want to make the public aware of a contractor scam showing up in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island. East Providence has experienced approximately 3 documented incidents in the past week, other agencies (Providence, Lincoln, Seekonk) have also reported similar incidents over the past couple of weeks. These scams are resulting in the loss of thousands of dollars to residents, according to East Providence Police.
