Local Granite St Resident Arrested for Fentanyl Trafficking by Worcester Police

On February 9th, 2024, Worcester Police Neighborhood Response Team officers arrested Angel Martinez, a 37-year-old Granite St resident. The arrest was for fentanyl trafficking. Martinez was pulled over after an officer observed him making a turn without signaling and found his driver’s license was suspended.

The officer conducted a vehicle inspection on Hollis St. They found a large amount of substances believed to be fentanyl and crack cocaine. They also discovered several bags of marijuana, brass knuckles, and a spring-loaded knife.

Martinez was taken into custody immediately. He faces charges including operating a vehicle with a suspended license, trafficking over 10 grams of fentanyl, possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute, dangerous weapon possession, and possession of Class D with intent to distribute.

The Worcester Police Neighborhood Response Team’s efforts in drug trafficking prevention and community safety are evident in this arrest. The case against Martinez will continue, with the evidence from his vehicle being key. The charges’ severity suggests a significant sentence if Martinez is convicted.
