METHUEN, Mass. (WWLP) – The MSPCA is looking for anyone to adopt more than a dozen goats that were rescued from poor conditions in New York back in January.
According to the MSPCA at Nevins Farm, the rescue included goats, cattle, and horses from Owego, New York on January 18th. The goats were then taken to Nevins Farm on Feb. 12.
“We ended up taking all 17 goats that were on the property,” explained Kaycie McCarthy, the equine and farm animal rescue and outreach manager at Nevins. “They were living with dozens of other animals on a property with limited access to food, water, and medical care.”
“We’re turning the page though, and our focus now is on caring for the goats and making sure they find perfect new homes,” she added.
The rescued goats include nine bucks, seven does, and one wether (ram), with ages ranging from one to 10 years old.
“We really don’t know much about the history of these goats,” McCarthy expounded. “Generally, goats are really affectionate and can be great companions for people.”
