Massachusetts man wins $2.64M jackpot using wife’s old number and plans to make humble purchase

A Massachusetts man credited his wife with his massive lottery winnings. Kevin Connor of the Rochdale village of Leicester won a $2.64 million lottery jackpot on Saturday Aug. 24.

Connor chose to take the lump-sum payment of $1.8 million before taxes. Connor says he has his wife to thank for the big lottery win.

“Connor said he has been playing the same Megabucks numbers for over thirty years,” the Lottery said. “He plays a combination that consists of his wife’s old landline number from when they started dating, as well as his wife’s favorite numbers.”

The ticket was parched at the Hillcrest Country club on Pleasant Street. Connor said he purchased the ticket after finishing a round of golf. The club will get a $26,400 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Connor was on vacation with his family in Maine for the weekend when he checked the lottery app on his phone and discovered he had all the matching numbers. The Lottery said that Connor plans on using the money to help pay for his children’s college education and buying himself some new socks.
