EAST BROOKFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A puppy who was recently adopted from an animal shelter is recovering after being attacked in a different home.
Second Chance Animal Services is sharing the story of Ribbet, a three-month-old Labrador Retriever puppy, who was rehomed by his original adopted family. They say that Ribbet’s family decided to rehome him on their own, in violation of their adoption agreement with Second Chance.

Ribbet was taken to Second Chance’s Community Veterinary Hospital in Worcester after being attacked by a larger dog in his new home. He was left with life-threatening injuries that included a fractured skull and severe damage to his eyes.
Veterinarians had to remove both his eyes and said that they were hopeful he would recover from his fractured skull. Once Ribbet has recovered, a new home will be sought for him.
