WPD Gang Unit Arrests Man Following Shots Fired on South St

WORCESTER, MA – An eighteen-year-old man was arrested on November 13, 2024, after Worcester Police officers responded to reports of gunfire on South St. At approximately 1:22 PM, officers were dispatched to investigate the shots fired. Upon arrival, they found evidence indicating that gunshots had been discharged in the area.

Later that evening, around 6 PM, officers from the Worcester Police Gang Unit and Crime Gun Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant at a South St residence linked to the shooting incident. The target of the warrant, an eighteen-year-old male with outstanding arrest warrants for gun-related offenses, exited the residence and was immediately detained. Officers recovered a loaded handgun on his person during the arrest.

A further search of the residence uncovered another handgun and additional ammunition. The suspect was taken into custody on his existing warrants and now faces additional charges, including Armed Assault to Murder in connection with the South St incident and various firearms-related offenses for the weapons found during the search.
