WORCESTER — Firefighters battled a brush fire near Bell Pond Sunday evening.
Crews were on scene, off Belmont Street, for three hours, with several wooded acres catching fire.
Firefighters throughout the region were busy during the weekend, with crews in Hubbardston smothering flames in woods off Selfridge Road late Sunday into early Monday.
The Auburn Fire Department reminds residents that fire pits and other outdoor fires are not allowed. In Franklin early Sunday, 70 acres were burned in a brush fire.
