In the video, an officer can be seen drawing his gun and telling Villegas to put down the weapon.
Police said a firefighter encountered Villegas holding the weapon “in a threatening manner” after responding to a fire alarm at his Village Road apartment.
He allegedly followed the firefighter, who left the building and alerted police.
The bodycam footage shows Villegas following the officer’s order and putting the bat on the ground before getting handcuffed.
