FOSTER, R.I. (WPRI) — Two people have died after a head-on crash in Foster, Rhode Island, on Tuesday afternoon, according to police.
Officers responding to Hartford Pike around 3 p.m. found two cars with heavy front-end damage.
An investigation revealed a car heading westbound crossed into the eastbound lanes to pass several cars when it crashed into the second car.
The driver of the passing car, identified as 34-year-old Aaron McCrory, of Danielson, Connecticut, was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
A passenger in the second car, 81-year-old Sandi Brooks, of Vernon, Connecticut, was also rushed to the hospital where she later died.
The driver of that car, who has not been identified, was also taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
