Sen. Jake Oliveira sworn in for second term in Massachusetts State Senate

BOSTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Senator Jake Oliveira (Ludlow, D) was sworn into office for his second term in the Massachusetts State Senate on Wednesday, representing the Hampden, Hampshire, and Worcester districts.

Oliveira took the official oath of office at the Massachusetts State House in Boston, where he first was elected for the position in 2022. Oliveira’s work as State Senator alongside his colleagues has included the creation of programs such as Universal School Meals for All and MassReconnect. Throughout his first term, he contributed to bringing about free community college in Massachusetts.

“It has been my sincere honor and an incredible privilege to serve the people of the Hampden, Hampshire & Worcester District,” Oliveira said. “As we enter this new legislative session, I remain committed to fighting for regional equity for Western Mass and the priorities that matter most to our communities: ensuring access to quality education, addressing the housing crisis, creating pathways for economic opportunity, and safeguarding our environment for future generations.”
