According to the he 2024 Annual Homelessness Assessment Report to Congress produced by The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Massachusetts families with children saw a staggering 74% increase in homelessness primarily due to the state’s ‘right to shelter’ law attracting migrants from around the world, but also from home prices remaining above $600,000 for eight straight months and the significant increase in the cost of living in the state.
