Fewer people in Worcester may need to travel to Boston for a hospital bed, with a new UMass Memorial Medical Center building soon to add six dozen new beds to the region. The North Pavilion building, located at 378 Plantation St., offers 72 patient beds for “hospital-medicine” patients, such as those with pneumonia, infections and chronic diseases, explained UMMC President Justin Precourt.
