A Chelmsford man plans to pay for home improvements and his son’s education after winning a $1 million scratch ticket prize.
Paul Hart is the second person to win a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s new “Celtics Banner 18″ instant ticket game that went on sale shortly before Thanksgiving, officials said.
Hart chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $650,00, according to the Lottery.
He purchased his winning ticket at Corner Cupboard on Gorham Street in Chelmsford. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for the sale of the ticket.
The Lottery noted that the Celtics Banner 18 instant ticket includes four more instant grand prizes of $1 million.
The ticket is available at Massachusetts Lottery retailers across the state.
