Woonsocket woman sentenced for trafficking drugs hidden in children’s toys

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A woman will spend more than a decade in prison for trafficking drugs across Rhode Island and Massachusetts, often smuggling them in children’s toys, according to United States Attorney Leah Foley.

Denise Guyette, 31, of Woonsocket, was sentenced Monday to 11 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.

She pleaded guilty last September to conspiracy to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl and 500 grams or more of a mixture containing methamphetamine.
