BURRILLVILLE – A fire Friday night was extinguished quickly by emergency personnel causing only minor damage to one structure in Harrisville, but antique vehicles kept inside the building sustained some harm.
Harrisville Fire Capt. Norman Mainville said the blaze at 240 Harrisville Main St. was called in around 11:15 p.m. on Friday, April 4 by a neighboring resident. All Burrillville fire companies responded to the scene with North Smithfield Fire & Rescue personnel on standby for potential EMS services. Mainville said no injuries were reported from the incident, and the Smithfield Fire Department came in to cover town stations.
The fire was brought under control by 11:51 p.m., with the last truck clearing the scene at 2:07 a.m. Saturday morning, according to Mainville.
