Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey called for Americans to continue the fight for liberty as she spoke at a remembrance of the Battle of Concord and the start of the Revolutionary War Saturday, saying “our freedoms are once again under attack.”
Healey was one of the speakers at the ceremony held at Old North Bridge, the site of the Battle of Concord 250 years ago. Earlier in the morning, a dawn salute was held where muskets and cannons were fired. Saturday’s ceremony took part midway through a parade , marking the 250 years since the battle.
The Concord battle reenactment took place shortly after the Battle of Lexington reenactment earlier in the morning. After the British clashed with Minutemen in Lexington 250 years ago, they marched on to Concord, where they aimed to capture the colonists’ ammunition supply…
