BOSTON (WWLP) – The Bay State is putting out a call to artists and historians to create a new state seal, flag, and motto so that every community sees themselves in Massachusetts’ story.
A commission will be choosing replacement designs that better reflect the state as it is today, and encourages all interested to submit designs.
They say they would like to see designs featuring native nature symbols, like the right whale, cranberries, or white pine or elm trees, or the geographic outline of Massachusetts and coastline imagery, but are open to all suggestions…
