LEOMINSTER — Two people were arrested and a cache of drugs and firearms were seized during a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)-led operation at 67 Central Street, Apartment 2, early Friday morning, according to the Leominster Police Department.
Detectives from the Leominster Police Department, the DEA’s New England Field Division Worcester HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas) Program, and the North Worcester County Drug Task Force (NWCDTF) executed the search warrant, which was obtained following a multi-agency investigation into narcotics trafficking and the illegal possession of firearms.
Due to the “extreme risk” associated with the warrant, the DEA’s Special Response Team (SRT) led the initial entry, police said.
