U.S. AG Pam Bondi called to investigate Mass. shelter system

BOSTON (WWLP) – A state whistleblower is calling on U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi to conduct a federal investigation of the Massachusetts shelter system.

According to the GOP, this comes following a letter by Jon Fetherston, a former shelter director charged by Governor Healey with housing hundreds of migrants in 2023 and 2024, to investigate the system.

The Healey administration released a report in January that said more than 1,000 violent incidents occurred at state-funded migrant shelters in Massachusetts.

“Federal investigators should explore whether blue states like Massachusetts are sweeping their mismanagement of the migrant crisis under the rug,” said MassGOP Chair Amy Carnevale. “While migrants themselves are the victims of horrific crimes committed in shelters set up by Maura Healey, taxpayers continue to suffer as she simply moves them into permanent, taxpayer-funded apartments.”
