Governor Healey introduces new bill centered around extreme weather

BRAINTREE, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – Governor Maura Healey introduced the Mass Ready Act Monday.

The bill proposes nearly $3,000,000,000 to be put towards strengthening infrastructure and protect local communities against extreme weather events.

It creates a “resilient revolving fund” for upgrades to roads, dams, and bridges, as well as streamlines permitting for priority housing, culvert replacements and salt marsh restoration projects…
