WEATHER ALERT: Flood Watch issued for all of western Massachusetts

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The 22News Storm Team has issued a Weather Alert Monday for the chance of scattered afternoon thunderstorms that could produce heavy rainfall, leading to flash flooding.

Driving precautions in the event of flash flooding

A Flood Watch is in effect for all of western Massachusetts from noon to midnight. Some of these storms will have the chance to produce heavy rainfall that could lead to isolated flash flooding. The main timeframe for these storms will be between 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

A Heat Advisory is in effect for central and eastern Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin Counties from 11 a.m. Tuesday until 7 p.m. Thursday for heat index values around 100 degrees. Monday will be in the mid-80s. On Monday night, showers/storms early, becoming dry and mostly cloudy. Patchy fog is possible with lows in the 60s and low 70s.
