A Massachusetts union has revealed the unexpected death of one of their own.

The Massachusetts Correction Officers Federated Union has announced with heavy hearts the sudden passing of Aaron Gill—a 27-year veteran.

“Aaron was much more than Sergeant for the DOC, as evidenced by standing up and volunteering to remove rubble in New York after 911. He was also a proud member of the MCOFU Pipe and Drum Band, where he represented MCOFU with honor and pride across the Commonwealth and beyond. Whether performing at local functions or playing in solemn tribute at national Correctional Peace Officers Foundation conferences, Aaron’s presence was a symbol of respect, remembrance, and unity.
