Woman Arrested After Tech-Assisted Manhunt in Webster, MA Involving Drones and Canine Units

A wanted woman’s attempt to outrun police ended with her arrest after an exhaustive manhunt involving canine units and drones in Webster, Massachusetts. The Webster Police Department’s social media post recounted the events that unfolded on the evening of Wednesday, leading to the apprehension of 30-year-old Nikole King.

Authorities were initially alerted to King’s presence near UMASS Webster on Thompson Road. Despite her efforts to evade capture on foot, which included running onto a highway and hiding in the woods, police were able to maintain pursuit. At one point, King was reportedly seen “jumping out of bushes into the roadway” by an eyewitness. With the situation developing quickly, officers attempted to safely locate and arrest her without further endangering public safety.

A significant break came when Sergeant Larochelle deployed a department drone to assist in the search.
