North Smithfield woman arrested for allegedly stealing $60K from Pawtucket home in 2020

PAWTUCKET – A woman accused of stealing $60,000 from a safe in 2020 was picked up on a warrant by North Smithfield police this month, and is now facing the five-year-old larceny charge.

Cynthia Synosch, 53, of 60 School St. – an affordable housing complex for the elderly and disabled known as Colonial Village – was arrested on Wednesday, August 6 and turned over to the Pawtucket Police Department for the outstanding felony.

According to the police narrative, Synosch was wanted for an incident reported to Pawtucket police in February of 2020. The victim told officers that she had given Synosch her purse – which contained a key to the safe in her home on Drolet Avenue – to hold on to while she was away…
