Longtime Vietnamese restaurant in Worcester copes with ownership dispute, employee walkout

WORCESTER ― For 38 years, a Vietnamese restaurant has quietly held a steady course of work on Green Street, running a simple yet effective business model even as the world around it has been razed down and built up over the decades.

A hole in the wall, Pho Hien Vuong has enjoyed the nods of online reviewers who rate it highly for service, affordability and authenticity. Founded by Vietnam-born Khau Huynh in 1987, it serves pho, a Vietnamese soup typically made with noodles and thinly sliced beef or chicken.

But the restaurant’s long run hit a bump in the road Aug. 17 when it suddenly closed after one of the business partners and restaurant staff walked out over ownership disagreements…
