Massachusetts Env. Cop rescues injured hawk, placed into hands of compassionate, loving retiree

“On Monday, Officer Stone responded to a call in Agawam, MA concerning an injured bird of prey. Initially thought to be a Bald Eagle, it was identified as a Cooper’s Hawk in distress. The young hawk, observed to be unable to use its legs, had sought refuge under some hedges.

After safely securing the bird, our team turned to a trusted expert: Tom Ricardi, retired Environmental Police officer and founder of the Birds of Prey Rehabilitation Center in Conway, MA.
