Massachusetts RMV hits Real ID milestone

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) has reached a significant milestone by issuing 3.5 million REAL ID credentials, marking a 62 percent compliance rate across the state.

Since 2018, the RMV has been offering REAL ID-compliant credentials, which are required for domestic air travel and access to certain federal buildings. The achievement highlights the RMV’s efforts to ensure residents are prepared for upcoming federal requirements.
