SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – The 2025 Farmer’s Almanac is out and its winter weather prediction will either have you excited or disappointed, depending on how you feel about snow.
There are three certainties in life: death, taxes, and New England weather that can be unpredictable. However, the Farmer’s Almanac still makes an annual tradition out of attempting the impossible. This year’s prediction is for a warmer than usual winter with below average snowfall. “It’d be nice. I don’t think anybody really likes the straight, freezing weather all winter,” said Liam Pomeroy, manager of Gooseberry Farm.
Even though Pomeroy said he and the farmers wouldn’t mind that at all, Western Mass News First Alert Meteorologist Liam Murphy said that you shouldn’t go and throw out your snow shovels just yet. “We take it, ya know, we take it kind of with a grain of salt. The accuracy according to a few studies is a coinflip at times,” Murphy added…
