State Representative Steve Xiarhos is not a fan of the Commonwealth adopting a new state flag. The Cape Cod lawmaker issued a statement over the weekend, saying Massachusetts is where it all started for the U.S. and our flag should not be altered.
“I am proud to have been born and raised in Massachusetts, and I will always be proud of our history. We are the birthplace of our nation, and soon we’ll celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States. It all started here—and our flag should stay the same.
Every day I see it flying alongside Old Glory at the Statehouse, and I proudly fly it at my home too. That’s the way it should be—and the way it should stay—especially as we celebrate our Commonwealth and nation’s 250th.”…
