Recent high school grads say they wish school taught them more life skills

WORCESTER — Over 80% of recent high school graduates in Massachusetts wish that they were taught more about financial literacy, according to a recent survey of 600 Massachusetts residents 18 to 29.

The survey, which was conducted in June by the MassINC polling group, surveyed the young adults on a variety of topics related to their feelings on how their experience in high school has supported their adult lives.

When asked what courses they wished were taught more to them as high school students, 82% of respondents said that they wish they had more financial literacy courses that taught students how to handle money. In addition, 74% of respondents said that they believe that completing courses on financial literacy should be a graduation requirement for Massachusetts students…
