The Southbridge Police Department recently reported a substantial narcotics and firearm arrest as part of their ongoing effort to combat drug activities in their community. On September 11, detectives executed a targeted operation which resulted in the arrest of 28-year-old Samson J. Normandin on multiple firearm and narcotics charges. The arrest took place following several months of intensive investigation focusing on 16 Dean Street, an area identified as a hub for illegal drug distribution.
According to a post from the department’s social media account, the surveillance on Thursday evening led detectives to intercept Normandin shortly after he arrived in a Central Street parking lot around 9:30 PM. Upon contacting the driver, investigators discovered substances suspected to be fentanyl, crack cocaine, and cocaine, all packaged for distribution. A subsequent search of Normandin’s vehicle uncovered additional cocaine, a firearm, numerous live rounds of ammunition, and an amount of suspected oxycodone hydrochloride.
