Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash in Charlton Claims Man’s Life on Route 169

A tragic incident occurred in Charlton yesterday morning, resulting in the death of one man following a single-vehicle crash. The Charlton Police Department reported receiving several calls about the accident at approximately 4:15 a.m. along Southbridge Road, also recognized as Route 169. Upon their arrival alongside emergency responders, a 2012 Honda Fit was discovered having veered off the road and collided with a stone wall. The severity of the crash suggested that the vehicle had been traveling north before losing control and leaving the roadway.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, sustained critical injuries and was immediately taken to UMASS-Harrington Memorial Hospital. Efforts to save him, however, proved futile as he later died from the injuries sustained.
