Juvenile burglary suspect tries to jump into pond to flee cops

WORCESTER — A juvenile burglary suspect was arrested recently after jumping into a Worcester pond in an attempt to escape from police.

According to the Worcester Police Department, officers were dispatched around 4:27 a.m. Thursday to a Mill Street home for a reported breaking and entering in progress. The resident told police they were watching the suspect on their security cameras and gave officers a detailed description.

Several officers searched the area and spotted the suspect, who fled on foot. A perimeter was set up, and the search continued into the morning…
