A cold snap later this week will send temperatures in Boston plunging below zero.
The grim reminder that winter is almost upon us comes amid an Arctic blast, brought on by an unstable polar vortex. Thankfully the weather until then will be a little warmer but with gusts of wind sweeping across the city, it will hardly feel like it.
The National Weather Service’s seven day forecast uses the best technology and expertise to try and predict what the weather will be for communities across the US. Today begins mostly cloudy, the temperature peaking near 46F as a west wind blows steadily at 9–13 mph, gusting over 20 mph at times. By nightfall, the clouds give way to clearer skies, with a low around 37F a calm, crisp night that feels clean and still.
