BOSTON (WWLP) – Since the arrest and charges against former governor’s aide LaMar Cook, lawmakers and gubernatorial candidates alike have been calling for answers.
ICE and immigration defense fund bills considered at State House
Cook, the former deputy director of the governor’s western Massachusetts office, was charged with cocaine trafficking and firearms charges in late October, after authorities seized 18 pounds of cocaine addressed to his Springfield office.
Cook has gun charges on his record, including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon–serious enough to raise concerns about the governor’s hiring process.
The question at hand, posed from both sides of the aisle and from inside and outside the State House, is whether the governor’s team was giving Cook a second chance or whether they were unaware of previous charges…
