Two Suspected Juvenile Gun Manufacturers Arrested in Worcester Shooting Probe

Following a multi-agency investigation, two 17-year-old juveniles have been arrested in connection with a September shooting on Boys & Girls Club Way in Worcester. This outcome stems from coordinated efforts by the Worcester Police Department (WPD) Crime Gun Unit, WPD Gang Unit, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the US Postal Inspector Service. A 17-year-old has been linked to both the shooting incident and illegal firearm possession and manufacturing, leading to the search warrants executed on December 30, according to an update posted by the Worcester Police Department.

During the execution of the search warrants at an address on Boys & Girls Club Way and another on Oberlin St, detectives recovered a firearm, ammunition, and tools used in firearm manufacturing. The investigation into the shooting had already garnered an arrest warrant for the 17-year-old juvenile prior. When executing two search warrants, the other juvenile, who is also facing charges of possession of ammunition and class B with intent to distribute, was also placed under arrest.

Back in September, Worcester Police officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert at the same location. At the incident’s aftermath, a 22-year-old man, Willie Watson of Worcester, was apprehended and found with a firearm he wasn’t licensed to carry. A second male, Chance Toney, arrived later at a hospital with a gunshot wound; investigators determined that he was at the scene and also armed illegally.
