A popular grocery chain’s decision to add facial recognition technology to some of its stores has a lot of people talking.
Wegmans released a statement confirming it has deployed cameras using facial recognition technology in “a small fraction of stores that exhibit elevated risk.” It’s unclear which stores are impacted.
“We understand concerns about fairness and bias in facial recognition systems,” Wegmans said in its statement posted on its website. “Our goal is simple – to keep our stores safe and secure.”…
